A Knox County woman claims she’s being stalked by accused murderer Shawn Smoot.
Kimberly N. Isenberg was granted a temporary order of protection against him in Knox County Circuit Court on Monday.
“I fear that Shawn is stalking me, and I am afraid,” Isenberg said in court documents.
Smoot has a first-degree murder charge pending in Roane County Criminal Court for the 2011 death of Brooke Nicole Morris. He’s out on bond in that case.
Isenberg said she has tried to cut off contact with Smoot because of the murder allegation.
Two incidents are referenced in the order of protection, one in August when Isenberg said Smoot walked into her hair salon.
“Shawn Smoot says I saw your car outside, I came looking for you and touched my arm,” Isenberg said.
The second incident occurred on Halloween.
“While at my vehicle in the hair salon parking lot, Shawn Smoot pulled up,” Isenberg said. “This is the second time Shawn Smoot has shown up here.”
Isenberg wants Smoot to stay away.
Earlier this year, Assistant District Attorney General Bill Reedy filed a motion in Roane County Criminal Court asking that Smoot be required to wear a GPS ankle bracelet while out on bond.
His motion was denied.
