Spring Into Action with upcoming seminar on issues affecting seniors

Spring Into Action, a free six-week senior- and community-focused educational event, will kick off April 3 with an American Red Cross presentation on senior disaster preparedness.

The seminar will begin at noon each Wednesday through May 8 in Kingston United Methodist Church at 212 W. Church St.

Those attending are encouraged to bring a bag lunch; drinks and dessert will be provided.

The seminars are a partnership between Mid-East Community Action Agency’s senior services department, Kingston United Methodist Church and Bethel Presbyterian Church.

Topics for other future sessions are Mid-East program and senior services, April 10; Tennessee Regulatory Authority programs and services, April 17; overview of CHOICES, Tennessee’s home- and community-based services program, April 24; Operation SAVE, also known as Serving Appalachian Veterans Effectively through the Tennessee Valley Coalition to End Homelessness, May 1; and senior personal safety presented by the Roane County Sheriff’s Office, May 8.
