St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Harriman will join other churches across the country and around the world on Oct. 6 in the custom of the Blessing of the Animals.
This is the third annual celebration for St. Andrew’s and will be open to the public. A line of pets — everything from dogs and cats to hamsters and even horses — will begin forming at 2 p.m. at the church at 180 Circle Drive.
“It is a simple tradition, but it brings comfort to many,” said the Rev. Harry Howard, St. Andrew’s priest, who will preside.
