A stench lingered between Harriman and Rockwood Tuesday morning, sending utility crews looking for a natural gas leak
They found none.
“The best we can determine it was an outside (source),” said Harriman Utility Board manager Bill Young. He said it could have been something traveling on nearby rails
The smell prompted the Henry Center to message parents that they could pick up their children early.
Young said it was a great exercise between HUB and Rockwood Water Sewer and Gas working together in a potential emergency scenario.
“We take any gas calls with extreme seriousness. If you call about natural gas odor, we are coming,” Young said.
