Success of CASA fundraiser comes from their help

-A A +A

The board of directors for CASA of the Ninth Judicial District would like to thank all those who participated or helped in making the CASA’s third annual Run for the Child such a success. We has 98 runners/walkers in the 5k race and 13 participants in the one mile fun walk/run.
Additionally, there were several others who participated by purchasing a T-shirt or who registered for the run/walk but were unable to come to the event.
The board is especially thankful for the major sponsors who helped pay for the event.
These included Foust Family Fitness Center; TVA Kingston Fossil Plant; Five Guys Burgers and Fries; Holston Gases; Dr. Timothy Bell at Kingston Health Associates; Roane County Democratic Party; and Roane County Republican Party.
The money raised by this event is especially helpful to CASA in the recruitment and ongoing training of the volunteers who are assigned to become advocates for children going through the juvenile courts in Roane, Morgan and Loudon counties because of abuse or neglect.
The event could not have been a success without the work of many people who labored behind the scenes, both to plan the activities of the day and throughout the event itself.
Although there are too many people to thank individually, the board would like to make mention of the following: Alf Rybka, photographer; Girl Scout Troop 846; Roane County Amateur Radio Club; Roane County News; Roane County Rescue Squad; Roane County Sheriff’s Office; Roane State Community College; Roane County United Way; and WVLT Volunteer TV.
If anyone was left out, it was unintentional. The board is thankful for all of you who helped make our fundraiser a safe and meaningful event.
