Talley to speak at NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet

Harriman native Damon L. Talley will be the guest speaker for the annual Freedom Fund Banquet of the Roane County Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

The banquet will be  will begin at 6 p.m. Jan. 19 in Jamieson Community Development Center on Margrave Street, Harriman.

Talley, a graduate of Harriman High School and Roane State Community College, earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Mercer Southern School of Pharmacy in Atlanta.

He is a retail pharmacist with Walmart.

Talley is the youngest child of Lelia Mae Talley of Harriman and the late John Talley. He lives in Atlanta with his wife and two children.  

The NAACP was founded in 1909 by a diverse group of citizens committed to helping to right social injustice.

Its principle objective is to ensure the political, educational, social and economical equality of minority citizens in this country.
