Thank you from folks at Roane Co. United Way

-A A +A

Roane County United Way would like to thank everyone who participated in and those who attended our recent Family Fun Day.

We had more than 40 agencies and businesses partake in this day.  More than 250 people came out to enjoy a day of music, food, and fun.

A special thanks to Roane State Community College for allowing UT LIFESTAR to be a part of our day, and thank you to David Maupin of East Roane County Volunteer Fire Department for ensuring a safe landing!

This event was started four years ago as a means to raise awareness for service provided in our community.

The Roane County United Way raises funds for 32 partner agencies that provide 37 programs in Roane County.

Through our Inter-Agency Council, we provide a network for service providers throughout the county.

You could say that United Way serves as a “hub” in the health and human services and non-profit arena.

In addition to the agencies and businesses that were present, we want to thank the Community Investors, which included Diane Cox and Roane State, Tony Brown with Roane County Parks and Recreation, Bill Wright and the Country Rebels, Holston Gases, Kroger, the Roane County News, Roane County Schools Coordinated School Health, Domino’s Pizza of Harriman, the Roane County Rebels, Creative Arts Co-op performers, Pilot Travel Center, Roane County Chamber of Commerce, Subway and Walmart.

I also want to extend appreciation to our planning committee, Christy Adair, Rebecca Brado (Girl Scouts), Brent Sigmon (CASA) and Patti Wells (Roane County Schools).

Last but not least, a big thank you to the Roane County community for coming out and supporting United Way.
