Thanks for helping Harriman Lions help community

-A A +A

The pancake lovers in the county once again united to make the “World’s Greatest Pancake Breakfast” a great success. The Harriman Lions Club hosted this event on May 6 at the Roane Street Grill in Harriman.

This is our annual major fundraiser for the programs which we sponsor and support. Our funds go back into the community. We provide photo eye screening each year for more than 400 Roane County children. We pay for eye examinations and/or glasses for 30-40 people yearly. We also contribute to local charities as the need arises.

Our primary goal is sight preservation, and it is with the help of many that we can meet this goal. First, we thank Rodney Harback, who supplied his restaurant, staff and food vendors for our endeavor. His generosity is matchless.

Food services that contributed are IWC, Food City of Harriman, Mayfield Dairy, Reinhart Food, Roane Street Grill, U.S. Food and United Grocery Outlet.

Second, we thank Claudette Coulobe, UPS store owner, for freely preparing and printing our long list of sponsors for display at Roane Street Grill.
