• A public country music show and dance featuring The Riverfront Band will be from 7 to 10 a.m. in the Harriman American Legion. Smoking and alcohol are prohibited.

MONDAY, JAN. 28
• Roane Choral Society rehearsals will begin at 7 p.m. in the choral room at Roane State Community College. All members are needed in preparation for “Lift Every Voice,” a concert of spirituals and gospel music honoring African American history. Roane County Community Chorus will join the group for this presentation planned for 7 p.m. Feb. 23 in the Princess Theatre, Harriman. Call 376-6710 for details.
• Babahatchie Community Band rehearsal begins at 8 p.m. in the Babahatchie Band Room at Harriman High School. Wind and percussion instrumentalists are encouraged to join. Call 882-3446 for details.

SATURDAY, FEB. 2
• Roane County Master Gardeners’ eighth winter workshop, “Edible Landscaping: From Fruit to Nuts,” will include classroom training and active, hands-on experience in an orchard. David Lockwood, Tennessee Extension specialist for fruit and nuts, will give a morning workshop on procurement and planting crops in preparation for spring. The focus after lunch will be on orchard management and pruning. Roane County Extension Agent Grant Palmer and Bradbury United Methodist Church will also team up for this workshop. Course fee is $20; register by emailing Lisa at gardening.angel@comcast.net.
