MONDAY, APRIL 18
• Mid-East Community Action Agency will take applications for its energy assistance program from 9 to 11 a.m. in Harriman Community Center and from 1 to 3 p.m. in Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, Oliver Springs. Those seeking assistance who have not applied since July 1, 2010, will need to apply in April; applicants must be responsible for paying their own energy costs to be eligible. Households must provide proof of monthly income; utility information, including account name and number and utility board; highest utility bill for the past 12 months or delivery tickets for 12 months of energy source, such as coal or wood; and names, Social Security numbers, birthdates and income for each member of the household. Applications are also available at the Mid-East office at 1362 N. Gateway Ave., Rockwood, or online at www.MECAA.net.
• Rockwood Fire and Water departments will test all fire hydrants in the city through April 30.

APRIL 18-19
• The town of Oliver Springs’ annual spring cleanup will concentrate on Midway Drive, Fox subdivision and side streets, and Sleepy Hollow.  Tires, paint, batteries, appliances using coolants and hazardous or toxic chemicals will not be accepted. All items to be picked up must be left by the street. Call Becky Campbell at 435-7722 to schedule a pick-up or for details.

APRIL 20-21
