THP to conduct three license checks in Roane County over the next month

The Tennessee Highway Patrol will conduct driver license roadside safety checkpoints on three dates over the next month.
The next checkpoint will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Sept. 28 on Hwy. 27 at the Morgan County line.
A second checkpoint will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. Oct. 5 on Pine Ridge Road near the railroad tracks; and a third will be from 11 a.m. to noon Oct. 26 on Hwy. 58 near the new bridge.
Recognizing the danger presented to the public by unqualified drivers, troopers will concentrate their efforts on vehicles being operated by drivers who would violate the driver license laws of Tennessee.
THP officials said they have found these driver license roadside safety checkpoints to be an effective means of enforcing driver license laws of Tennessee while ensuring the protection of all motorists.
