Three Jackets named all-district

   Cody Akers, Derek Basler and Aaron Fielden recently completed a great season on the baseball diamond for the Bruce Robinette’s Kingston Yellow Jackets baseball team and all three were recently rewarded for their hard work by being named to the 2011 All-District 4-AA Baseball Team.

Akers, Basler and Fielden were three of 21 total players named to the squad. 

District champion Christian Academy of Knoxville (CAK) led the way with six selections including 2011 Player of the Year Devin Gray and 2011 Pitcher of the Year Dalton Keck. Heath Hawkins, Dylan Keck, Josh McMillan and Phillip Pardue were also selected from CAK.

Alcoa was next in line with four selections led by 2011 Defensive Player of the Year Nathan Waters. Hunter Ramsey, Tyler Troutt and Chaz Vasser were also selected from Alcoa.

Loudon also had four selections with 2011 Rookie of the Year Trent Elliot leading the way. Sean George, Eric Newman and Corey Powell were Loudon’s remaining selections.

Like Kingston, Stone Memorial had three players on the team with 2011 Offensive Player of the Year Brandon Cole leading the way. Josh Cain and Michael Reyes also represent the Panthers on the squad.

Scott’s Jake Green rounds out the squad.

Lady Jackets Honored: The Kingston Lady Jackets softball also had four players receiving all-district honors.

 For their play in the regular season, Lindsey Stickrod, Morgan Snow and Mica Gaines were named to the 2011 All-District 4-AA Softball Team. Then after winning g the District 4-AA Tournament, Stickrod, Snow and Gaines were named to the District 4-AA All-Tournament Team along with Makisha Fuller. Gaines was named as the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
