Tigers enjoy awards night

The Rockwood Rotary Club recently held its annual Rockwood High School Football Awards Night. The event has been held for more than 50 years.

Ed Bilbrey was the master of ceremonies and former Tiger player Tommy Pemberton was the gust speaker.

Cheerleading trophies were presented to Rockwood’s nine cheerleaders and their sponsors, Jamie Legg and Kara Boles.

Other awards and plaques were given to the team by head coach John Webb. 

The Tom Harper Evans Memorial Award for the team MVP went to Hayden Freels. The 3-D Award for desire, dedication and determination went to Evan Gardner. The Voice of the Tiger Award for the most improved senior went to Clay Cisson. The Ray Cheek Memorial School Spirit Award went to Tyler Skidmore. Jared Breazeale received the Carolyn B. Greif Memorial Award for having the highest average on the team. The C.W. Pemberton Memorial Award for the best defensive player went to Hayden Freels.The Dr. Tom Evans Award for leadership went to Jared Breazeale and Eric Reichard while the Mike Collier Memorial Award for best offensive player went to Kyron Inman.

A great meal was enjoyed by those attendance and the evening was topped off with a video of the Rockwood seniors.
