After winning last week's sub district tournament, the Rockwood Tigers golf team finished third Tuesday in the District 4 A/AA Tournament held at Willow Creek Golf Course.
Rockwood finished the day with a score of 339, which was 33 shots behind defending TSSAA Class A/AA State Champion Christian Academy of Knoxville and 18 shots behind second place Alcoa.
Kyle Powell led Rockwood on the day with an 18-hole total of 79. Dalton Jackson was next in line for the Tigers with an 83 while Zack Taylor shot an 86 and Derek Gibson had a 91 for the Tigers.
Rockwood's third place finish, however, is good enough to advance to the Region 2 A/AA Tournament.
Harriman also competed on Tuesday, but the Blue Devils will not be advancing to the region tourney. Harriman finished sixth overall with a team score of 391.
The news wasn't all bad for Harriman, however, as Blue Devil junior Samuel Davis qualified for the individual portion of the region tournament after firing an 18-hole score of 73. Davis' 73 was good for second overall, five shots behind Alcoa's Grant Daugherty.
