The Rockwood boys golf team put on an impressive show last week as the Tigers cruised to a 14-shot victory at the sub District 3-A/AA Tournament.
The Tigers shot a team total of 150, which was 14 shots better than Stone Memorial.
Zack Taylor paced the Tigers on the day with a 35. Kyle Powell and Dalton Jackson followed with identical 38s while Derek Gibson shot a 39 for the Tigers. Hunter Robbins rounded out Rockwood’s day with a 43.
Following Stone Memorial in the standings was Harriman with a 179.
Samuel Davis led the way for the Blue Devils with a 37. Kevin Sheppard (45), Jacob Murrell (46), Cody Jewett (51), and Chane Goldston (61) rounded out Harriman’s scoring.
By finishing in the top three, Harriman, Stone Memorial and Rockwood all advanced to the District 3-A/AA Tournament that was held Tuesday at Willow Creek Golf Course.
Besides the top three teams, the remaining top five individual finishers advanced in the tournament.
Those five would all be from Roane County as Kingston’s Daniel Harvey (43), Midway’s Austin Keeling (44), Kingston’s Spencer Boles (45), Midway’s Josh Manning (45) and Kingston’s Matt Mullen (45) all advanced in individual play.
