A Rockwood woman extricated from an accident Thursday evening died Monday at University of Tennessee Medical Center.
Margaret M. Slaven was taken off life support Monday afternoon.
Her husband, Kenneth Slaven, is still in the hospital.
The driver of the other vehicle, Rae M. Green, also of Rockwood, was also injured.
According to a report by Rockwood Patrolman Charles P. Haubrich, the accident happened at the intersection of Molyneux Street and Belle Avenue around 9:45 p.m.
Green was driving a 1994 Ford Ranger and the Slalvens were in a 1990 Toyota Corolla.
Green told police she was southbound when Slaven crossed the yellow line and struck her, but both the police report and accompanying diagram note that each vehicle was in the northbound side of Molyneux Street.
No charges were filed immediately.
Two Kingston women were hospitalized after a head-on collison on Race Street on the levee Thursday afternoon.
Kingston Police Chief Jim Washam said Janet Bells of Kingston was driving west when she crossed the line and struck an SUV driven by Joye Morfield.
Bells was transported to University of Tennessee Medical Center by helicopter..
Morfield was also hospitalized, although her condition was not available.
Washam said charges are pending in the case.
