Residents of Kingston and parts of Roane county now have a new choice for their television and communications services powered by advanced technology.
AT&T has launched U-verse TV, high-speed Internet and voice services in parts of the county.
“This investment by AT&T is great news for Roane County, and I’m pleased to see these U-verse services coming here,” said state Sen. Ken Yager. “As Tennessee policymakers, our goal is to increase investment throughout the state. The expansion of AT&T U-verse supports economic growth and increases consumer choice in Tennessee.”
U-verse services are delivered over AT&T’s advanced IP network. They offer an alternative to cable with quality DVR, features and apps.
Customers receive one bill for a new level of integration, convenience and control.
“The consumer benefits with more competition and choice and this is great news for the citizens of Roane County,” said state Rep. Julia Hurley. “The introduction of these new services gives us new innovations for enjoying TV and Internet access when so many cities and towns are competing for new technology investments.”
U-verse TV is the only 100 percent IP-based television service offered by a national service provider.
“I’ve believed for some time now that our collective success is tied to having access to leading-edge technologies that can keep us connected,” said The Roane Alliance President Leslie Henderson. “This is a real plus to have this kind of investment coming to our community to make next-generation broadband and video services a reality.”
