VECustomers Share helps Midway

-A A +A

VECustomers Share Board Member Barry Narramore, left, presents a $1,300 grant check to Amber Hurst, representing the Midway High School PTO. The grant is among the $2,850 given recently to Roane County organizations. Midway Middle School’s PTO was awarded a $1,050 grant, and Roane County’s UT Extension garnered a $500 grant. The program, founded in October of 2001, has donated more than $4.7 million to various community-service organizations. VECustomers Share is a non-profit, tax-exempt charitable organization covering Volunteer Energy Cooperative’s 17-county service area. The foundation’s funds come from VEC members who have opted to allow VEC to round their electric bills up to the next whole dollar. Grant applications are available at any Volunteer Energy Cooperative Customer Service center, by calling 423-334-7051 or at www.vec.org.
