This letter is in response to the county commissioners voting unanimously to borrow money to purchase new school buses.
Our forefathers set up a system so we, the people, would have representation at the county, state and federal levels of government.
In the past, our commissioners were voting their will, and not the will of the people of Roane County.
We thought we had corrected this problem when we voted several of the commissioners out of office during the last election.
Evidently, we didn’t get the lead dog voted out.
Everyone knows what the view is when they follow the lead dog all the time.
It’s time we get the message to our leaders that we, the people of Roane County, want our commissioners to represent us and not the leaders of other county departments.
Everyone who is in favor of borrowing money to buy school buses, please go by the courthouse and sign the note.
If you aren’t in favor, call your commissioner and let them know that you want them to represent you.
