Volunteer Energy gives grants in Roane

Volunteer Energy Cooperative awarded $2,750 in grants to Roane County organizations in April through its VECustomers Share program.
The program, founded in October 2001, has donated more than $4.1 million to various community-service organizations.
Local groups collecting grants in April include Midway High School PTO/FFA, $1,000; South Roane County Volunteer Fire Department, $1,000; Midway High School Spanish Club, $250; Roane Choral Society, $250; and Midway Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support team, $250.
