Was something fishy about case of resigning deputy?

I had Deputy Derek Kennedy come to my house once for some problems we were having, and I found that he was good and honest.

I feel bad that he left the sheriff’s department; I feel that they lost a good man.

I have read all the write-ups in the paper on what happened when he left recently. It looked like Kennedy was trying to do his job, and David Mitchell was trying to stop him because he was afraid that his granddaughter was going to get a ticket for DUI.

It appears that Mitchell tried to throw his weight around to keep Kennedy from doing his job.
