Tuesday night wasn’t a fun night for the Kingston Yellow Jackets and Midway Green Waves a both suffered district sweeps on the road.
Kingston traveled to Alcoa and suffered a pair of double digit loss. The Lady Jackets lost, 62-43, while Kingston’s boys suffered a 61-43 setback.
Midway’s losses came at Grace Christian Academy. The Lady Waves dropped a 58-47 decision while Midway’s boys came up just short, 64-58.
Kingston at Alcoa
A bad third period cost Kingston dearly as the Lady Tornadoes turned what was a seven-point game at halftime into a 21-point blowout.
Alcoa led throughout the first two periods of play as the Lady Tornadoes were up 21-17 after eight minutes of play and 34-27 at halftime.
The third period, however, would see Alcoa outscore Kingston 24-10 and basically put the game away.
Harli-Blaine Oran led Kingston on the night with four three-pointers and 12 points. Haley Cornellison and Brooke Smith added 10 points each.

The final game of the evening was much the same as Kingston couldn’t keep pace with the Tornadoes.
The Jackets trailed just 15-14 after eight minutes of play, but Alcoa used a 16-7 second period to take a 31-21 lead at halftime.
Like the girls, Alcoa put the game away in the third quarter as they outscored Kingston 17-10.
Jordan Huddleston (17 points) and Derek Basler scored in double figures for Kingston.

Midway vs. Grace Christian
The Lady Waves fell behind early and couldn’t catch up as the Lady Rams avenged an earlier loss.
Grace Christian led 15-5 after eight minutes of play and would take a 43-26 lead into the final period before Midway cut six points off the lead in the final period.
Hayley Roberson and Alisa Barger scored 17 points each for Midway.

Grace Christian hammered the Waves earlier this season, but Midway put a scare into the Rams Tuesday night before dropping a six-point decision.
Grace Christian started strong as the Rams led 20-13 after eight minutes of play and 36-24 at halftime, but Midway battled back in the third period and trailed just 45-43 with eight minutes left to play.
Midway, however, couldn’t pull the upset as the Rams held on, 64-58.
Caleb Ruffner (13 points), Josh Manning (11 points) and Matt Jarvis (10 points) all scored in double figures for the Green Waves.
