Darrell Williams has been named director of business development for The Roane Alliance.
“Williams has only been with the Alliance for seven months, but he has proven to be a valuable employee for a whole range of reasons — not the least of which is his sales skills,” said Leslie Henderson, president and CEO of The Alliance.
“In this new slot, he will begin to use those skills to recruit new businesses — to town, as well as to continue to build up and serve membership for the Roane Chamber.”
The Roane County native was hired on at The Alliance as member services director in February, after having spent the past 20 years in sales, marketing and consulting, particularly in the nontechnology field.
Williams will focus on retail recruiting, but he will also handle industrial prospects.
Williams and his wife, Teresa, are both from Roane County and live in Kingston.
They have a grown daughter, Kim, who teaches at Kingston Elementary School.
He is a graduate of Harriman High School and attended Roane State Community College.
The Roane Alliance consists of both public and private organizations, including the County Industrial Development Board and the Roane County Visitors Bureau, and the Chamber of Commerce.
