Woman charged after infant left in car

Ashley Rice, 110 Rice Lane, Harriman, is facing a child abuse charge for allegedly leaving her infant son in a car while she went into Kroger.
The alleged incident happened on May 10 at Kroger in Midtown.
According to the warrant, police found the infant secured in a car seat in a gold SUV when they arrived at the store.
“The child was alone with the windows up, doors locked and the sunroof was popped open,” the warrant said.
Police made contact with Rice as she was leaving the store.
