Yager takes oath for second term

State Sen. Ken Yager, R-Harriman, took the oath of office last week in Nashville as the 108th General Assembly was gaveled into session.

The oath was administered by Supreme Court Justice William C. Koch during the legislature’s three-day organizational session.

“I am grateful for the continued opportunity to serve in the state Senate and sincerely appreciate the voters’ confidence in the recent election,” said Yager. “I thoroughly enjoy my service in the General Assembly and am mindful that the people have given me this privilege. I also want to remind citizens that I always invite their input and hope that they will call upon me anytime they want to express their views or if they need help with state government services.”

Yager represents District 12, which includes Roane, Campbell, Fentress, Morgan, Rhea, Pickett and Scott counties. He serves as chairman of the Senate State and Local Government Committee. He is also a member of the Senate Commerce and Labor Committee and the Joint Fiscal Review Committee.
