The first hurdle for popular chicken restaurant Zaxby’s to locate in a front lot of the Pinnacle Pointe shopping complex is done.
A subdivision of a lot at the shopping development anchored by Lowe’s and Kroger was approved by the Harriman Regional Planning Commission this month.
Harriman Building Inspector Maria Nelson said she’s not seen a site plan for the proposed strucure, yet, however.
Harriman Mayor Chris Mason was happy to see another retailer come to the area.
“Welcome,” Mason said. “We are excited.
Zaxby’s follows a number of projects that have located in the area this year, including rival chicken restaurant Bojangles, which is across Hwy. 70 from where the Zaxby’s is proposed.
The new restaurant will be located adjacent to Tyler Way.
According to records, the restaurant will employ about 40 people.
