Observe, investigate and experiment with fully functioning replicas of machines, structures and amusement park rides with K'Nex: Building Thrill Rides, an exhibit open through Sept. 11 in the American Museum of Science and Energy, Oak Ridge.
This special exhibition is designed to captivate young visitors and provide them the opportunity to explore the science, math and technology behind hair-raising amusement park thrill rides.
Roane County United Way will once again be taking over Roane State Community College’s campus for its annual Family Fun Day on Saturday, May 21. The event will run from
11 a.m.-4 p.m., following CASA’s Run for the Child fundraising event.
CASA’s 5k run, walk and shorter fun walk begin at 8 a.m. Day of run registration is at 7 a.m. Money from the run will be used to train volunteers to be court advocates for children who have suffered abuse or neglect.

Michael Dunn Rehabilitation Center celebrated its 15th anniversary with an informal ceremony that included clients and the general public. The center in 15 years had grown from a basement organization to include an expanded building, two greenhouses, children’s residences, a Michael Dunn workshop and Dunn Diversified Industries.
