In celebration of the National Park Service turning 100 years old, the Obed Wild and Scenic River is planning a combined birthday party and an Art in the Park reception.
The reception begins at 5 p.m. Aug. 25 in the Obed Visitor Center at 208 N. Maiden St., downtown Wartburg.
The National Park Service has been celebrating its impending centennial for more than a year, but Aug. 25 marks the actual day when the National Park Service can claim 100 years of protecting our nation’s most treasured places.
