The Tennessee Polk Salad Festival will return to the David Webb Riverfront Park in Harriman on June 6.
The regional arts, crafts and food festival, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., is an annual event of the Arts Council of Roane County.
“Art touches us all, and the festival will encourage feelings of creativity and self-expression for all as everyone is encouraged to express their creative talents through music, performance, literature and visual arts,” said Arts Council member Becky Brunton.
An upcoming eight-hour AARP smart driver class in Roane County offers area senior citizens a refresher course on driving and an update on rules of the road.
The class will be from 8 a.m. to noon June 8-9 in Harriman United Methodist Church at 601 Queen St.
Course participants will be taught to adjust to age-related physical changes; reduce incidents of violations and accidents; and update driving skills and rules of the road in a stress-free environment.
