Oliver Springs Historical Society has its 2014 calendars available.
The calendars are $10 each. All proceeds go toward restoration of the Abston Garage, which the historical society will use as a museum facility.

Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee is struggling to feed all children going hungry in the region, including Roane County.
Food for Kids, a collaborative effort between Second Harvest Food Bank and East Tennessee schools, is aimed at feeding area children through the weekend, when they do not receive free breakfast or lunch served by the school system.
AAA projects 43.4 million Americans will journey 50 miles or more from home during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
That’s a decrease of 1.5 percent from the 44 million people who traveled last year. This decrease falls just shy of last Thanksgiving’s four-year peak since the recession-driven declines in 2008-09, when Thanksgiving travel fell by 25 percent.
The Thanksgiving holiday travel period is defined as Wednesday, Nov. 27, to Monday, Dec. 2.
