Airman Jacob R. Hester recently graduated from U.S. Air Force basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.
Son of Shannon and Lisa Hester, he is presently stationed at Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas, in training to be a firefighter. Upon completion of his training, the airman will be transferred to Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana.
Hester's grandparents are Pat Hester and the late Raymond Hester, the late Mary Carlene Morris, Reva Nickell and the late James Nickell.

A free six-week Powerful Tools for Caregivers course will begin April 7 in Mid-East Community Action Agency’s Roane County office at 1362 N. Gateway Ave., Rockwood.
The course will be taught from 2:30 to 5 p.m. for six consecutive Sundays through May 12.
Powerful Tools Class Leaders and Master Trainers Kate and Dale Allen, assisted by Mid-East Senior Services Director Amber Jacks, will teach the course.
Although there is no fee, class size is strictly limited, and pre-registration is required.
