The group met at the Wrights’ home to make crafts to sell for the Betty McGlasson Scholarship Fund and 4-H camp.
The Rural Mixers meet the second Thursday of each month in Kingston Community Center.
The Roane County News had one of its more humanitarian globetrotting trips when it accompanied the Ochs family to Ghana, Africa.
“In this picture, we are with the children from Great Mission International, an orphanage in Teshie, Ghana,” explained Bekah Ochs, at left in the middle of the back row, holding children with sisters Abby, center, and Maddie.
“We recently returned for a medical mission outreach with a team from [Feeding the Orphans]. After the team left, our family stayed several weeks to reconnect with friends.”
Members of South Harriman High School’s class of 1955 celebrated their 60-year reunion late last month at The Cottage at Roane County Park.
