As the weather gets warmer, the Roane County News has put on its traveling shoes for this year’s vacation season. First stop: Hampton, Fla., with the Ward family of Kingston.

The trip was a combination vacation, visit with family — and a wedding, which was a surprise to the Kingston relatives. Emily Ward — Joyce’s daughter, Pat’s granddaughter and James’ cousin — married Trevor Wall.
Tri-County Ministerial Association’s Good Friday worship was at St. Mary’s Baptist Church, where the Rev. Jesse L. Williams is pastor.
Tri-County president is the Rev. Willie Gallaher.
This service was at 6:30 a.m. Speaker for the Last Sayings of Jesus on the Cross were the Rev. James Guthrie, the Rev. Paul Taylor, the Rev. Willie Gallaher, the Rev. Jesse Williams, Elder Leander Blackmore, Elder James Knaff and the Rev. Alvin Douglass. Reader for the Word was the Rev. Brady Springs.
