Microbes from the human mouth are telling Oak Ridge National Laboratory scientists something about periodontitis and more after they cracked the genetic code of bacteria linked to the condition.
Fishing enthusiasts interested in the health of sport fish in TVA’s reservoirs along the Tennessee River are invited to observe the annual surveys this spring.
The surveys, which have been conducted yearly since 1995, collect data on sport fish species such as black bass and crappie.
This year’s surveys began March 12 at Wilson Reservoir, near Muscle Shoals, Ala., and will continue through May 9 at Douglas Reservoir east of Knoxville, sampling nine TVA reservoirs.
At the Roane County Chamber of Commerce’s Fifth Annual High Schools Career Day on April 5, around 475 juniors will have to opportunity to learn about careers they may never have considered and what it takes to prepare for them.
With a little more than a year from graduating from high school, these students are thinking about their futures and their careers.
About 50 businesses plan to participate in the Career Day at Roane State Community College’s gymnasium.
