“We see an increase in travel and recreation in our area, and unfortunately those things can lead to accidents and traumas requiring blood transfusions.”

Roane County ElderWatch will observe World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on June 15 with an ice-cream social from 1 to 3 p.m. in the pavilion at Kingston City Park.

It is intended to give abuse and neglect of older adults a global relevance that will sustain and move prevention efforts forward throughout the years to come.
