There are so many superstitions that come to life at Halloween time. An old one is that an unmarried woman will dream of her future husband if she puts a sprig of rosemary and a silver coin under her pillow on Halloween night.

Julia Harris and her daughter Alicia spent two days in Nashville. They went there to see Julia’s granddaughter Breana play soccer along with other team members Monday evening. Breana is the daughter of Kristie and Malachi Jamieson.
Roane County officials are going green and making it easier for their staffs to help the Earth with the placement of recycling bins in each office.
“I want to thank the officials of Roane County for joining me and the Roane County Highway Department in our efforts to Keep Roane Litter Free,” said Road Superintendent Dennis Ferguson, who placed the bins in the county offices.
Bins are in the offices of officials at the Roane County Courthouse, the Sheriff’s Office and the Codes office.
Twenty-nine friends and relatives gathered for the recent 49th annual Lands family reunion in the fellowship hall of North Rockwood Baptist Church.
Those attending from out of town were Donna, Greg, Rachel and Jacob Townsend and Ryan Austin of Big Stone Gap, Va.; Rhonda, Alberta and Casey Whittenberg of Murfreesboro; Robert and Kathleen Lands of Dayton; and Linda and David Hudson of Ooltewah.
