• Rev. & Mrs. Leffew 50th

    The Rev. Jerry and Sue Leffew will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 25.

    Family and friends will help them celebrate with a party from 3 to 5 p.m. June 27 in Ten Mile Community Center.

  • Brianna makes five generations

    Ninety-one-year-old Ruth Johnson, center right, and her family celebrated five generations with the birth of Johnson’s great-great-granddaughter, Brianna Denton.

    Brianna was 2 months old when she and her family traveled from Tunnel Hill, Ga., for a five-generation get-together.

    The family includes, from left, daughter Rosie Johnson Denton, 62, holding Brianna; grandson David Denton, 42; Johnson; and great-granddaughter Elizabeth Denton, 20.

  • Josiah Miller

    Josiah Miller celebrated his 12th birthday on June 9.

    He celebrated with laser tag and a pizza party with his parents, best friends and brother.

    He is the son of Ben Miller and Holly Culleton.

    Grandparents are Len and Gina Jackson of Harriman, and Randy and Vicki Miller of Iowa.

    Josiah has a brother and best buddy, Zackary.

  • Mr. & Mrs. Carter 60th

    Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Carter will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on June 4.

    Mr. Carter and the former Jean Phillips were married on June 4, 1955, in the Frost Bottom community of Oliver Springs.

    He is retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and she is retired from ORNL Federal Credit Union.

    The couple has two children, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

  • Plemens-Taylor

    Robin and Craig Freels, and Michael Plemens, all of Harriman announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Grace Danielle Plemens, to Todd Shilling Taylor Jr.

    He is the son of Todd and Denise Taylor of Harriman.

    The ceremony will be in June at the Knoxville Zoo.

    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Dan and Debb Harper of Harriman, and Reed and the late Josephine Plemens of Harriman.

    She is a Harriman High School graduate and a 2015 graduate of Tennessee Tech University with a degree in art education.

  • Warmley celebrates her 95th birthday

    Louise Warmley of Harriman celebrated her 95th birthday on May 12.

    She was born in Harriman on May 12, 1920, to the Rev. Preston and Troy Anderson, both deceased.

    The oldest of seven children, she attended school in Alcoa, graduating from Hall High School. She later married William Warmley Jr., now deceased.

    They had two children, Marvin Anderson and Dorothy Graham, six grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

  • Tedder-Koehler

    Mr. and Mrs. Steven Plemens of Harriman and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Tedder of Friendsville announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Carrie Elizabeth Tedder, to Michael Richard Koehler.

    He is the son of Virgil and Diane Koehler of Louisville.

    A June ceremony is planned.

    The bride-elect holds a master’s degree in music performance from the University of Tennessee. She is band director at The Episcopal School of Knoxville.

  • Cleaver-Basler

    Kent and Stephanie Cleaver of Franklin announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Cayla Cleaver, to Nathan Basler.

    He is the son of Garland and Jama Basler of Kingston.

    The ceremony will be on May 23 in Franklin. A reception will follow.

    Formal invitations have been sent.

    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Frank and Charlotte Cleaver of Nashville, and Helen Hughey of Frankin.

    She is a graduate of O’More College of Design with a degree in interior design. She is employed with Allard Ward Architects, Nashville.
