  • Daphanie Lyn-Marie Cofer

    Daphanie Lyn-Marie Cofer was born Nov. 7 in Tennova, Knoxville.

    She weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce, and was 19 inches long.

    She is the daughter of Barry and Stephanie Cofer.

    Grandparents are Steve and Deborah Ellison and Fonna Cofer. Great-grandmother is Shirley Plemons.

    Daphanie has an older brother, Ayden Newton.

  • Wadlington-Norris

    Randy and Rita Wadlington of Harriman announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Brooke Nicole Wadlington, to Brian Jack Norris.

    He is the son of Jack and Harriett Norris of Rockwood.

    The ceremony will be at 3:30 p.m. May 18 in South Harriman Baptist Church. A reception will follow in the church’s family life center.

    All relatives and friends of the couple are invited to attend.

    The Roane County News charges a $5 fee for birthday announcements and a $15 fee for engagement announcements.

    The fee will ensure placement in the Wednesday paper, provided the announcements are in house by 3 p.m. the previous Friday. The Roane County News reserves the right to edit for clarity, style and format.

    Birthdays are accepted only for children ages 1-10 and adults ages 85-99. All 100-year birthdays are published at no charge. All birthdays must be celebrated within TWO MONTHS of the date of submission.

  • Cagley-Bernstorf

    Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Cagley of Kingston announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Lindsey Meagan Cagley, to Craig Allen Bernstorf.

    He is the son of Mike and Sherry Heidle of Kingston, and the late Dr. Robert Bernstorf.

    The ceremony will be May 18 at Magnolia Manor, Lenoir City. A reception will follow at Magnolia Manor.

    Invitations will be sent, but all relatives and friends of the couple are invited to attend.

  • Celebration to mark Cooley’s 80th birthday

    A celebration of James Cooley’s 80th birthday will be from 2 to 4 p.m. May 4 in the family life center of Piney Grove Baptist Church, where he has been a member for 68 years.

    All relatives and friends are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served; no gifts are requested.

    Cooley was employed in the sign department of Rockwood Coca-Cola Bottling Works for 20 years. He was also employed with Rust Engineering in Oak Ridge for 22 years and owned and operated Cooley Sign Co. in Midtown.

  • Ridingses’ 5 generations

    Five generations of Alex and Rose Ridings’ family had a recent family gathering.

    The five generations include, front row from left, Daniel and Gavin Handschumacher; middle row, Lynda Ingle, Katherine Walker Ingle, Vanessa Ingle Handschumacher; and back row, Alex and Rose Ridings and Eva Ridings Walker.

    Alex and Rose Ridings were married on June 7, 1946, and have been married for 66 years.

    Their birthdays are also coming up: Alex and Rose Ridings were born on the same date, May 22, 1924.

  • Poole-Foster

    Tony and Beverly Poole of Knoxville announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Leigh Ann Poole, to Adam Foster.

    He is the son of Susan Foster of Knoxville and Paul and Gail Andrews.

    The ceremony will be at 12:30 p.m. May 11 in Concord First Baptist Church.

    The bride’s grandparents are David and Syble Poole, and Barbara Smith and the late J.C. Smith.

    The groom’s grandparents are Louise Foster and the late Herndon Foster Sr.
