  • Five generations in Harriman

    Mildred Parham, seated, of Crossville, formerly of Roane County, recently spent time in Harriman as the matiarch of five generations of her family, including, from left, great-grandson Colyn Scarbrough holding great-great-grandson Link, grandson Greg Scarbrough and daughter Jeanetta Scarbrough.

  • Mr. & Mrs. Kinser 70th

    Glen and Nadine Kinser will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary during a reception hosted by Jack and Diane Woolum.

    The reception will be at 4 p.m. Feb. 2 in Pentecostal Lighthouse Church, Harriman.

    All relatives and friends are invited. The couple requests no gifts.

    The Kinsers were married on Feb. 3, 1944, in Harlan, Ky. He is now 90, and she is 89.

  • Lively-Oliver

    U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Matthew Roberts Oliver and Chasity Lynn Lively, together with their families, announce their forthcoming marriage.

    The ceremony will be in spring 2015.

  • Zackary Culleton

    Zackary Culleton turned 6 years old on Dec. 5.

    He celebrated on Dec. 8 with a panda party attended by 30 relatives and friends in Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge.

    He is the son of Holly Culleton and Shawn Culleton.

    Grandparents are Len and Gina Jackson of Harriman, and Connie and Dave Pulk of Knoxville.

    Billie and Chuck Beach of Oliver Springs are described by Zackary’s Grandmother Jackson as his “almost grandparents.”

    Zackary has a 10-year-old brother and best friend, Josiah.

  • Robbins turns 101 and still going strong

    Addie “Mac” Robbins turned 101 years old on Dec. 1.

    She celebrated her birthday Thanksgiving weekend with family at Jamestowne Assisted Living, Kingston.

  • Shawn Alexander Burney

    Shawn Alexander Burney celebrated his fourth birthday with family and friends on Nov. 18.

    He celebrated with a Hot Wheels-themed party.

    He is the son of Melissa and Scott Burney of Harriman.

    Grandparents are Linda Utley Banks of Harriman, and Troy and Annette Burney of Oliver Springs.

    Great-grandparents are the late Melvin and Lola Utley of Harriman, the late J.H. and Sarah Burney of Oliver Springs, and the late O.T. and Etoy McDaniel of Oak Ridge.

    Shawn has a 5-year-old brother, Bryaden Andrew Burney.

  • Mr. & Mrs. Thomas 50th

    Mr. and Mrs. James Thomas celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 30 with relatives and friends at Harriman Shoney’s.

    Thomas and the former Alice Goodman were married on Nov. 30, 1963, in Rhea County Courthouse, Dayton.

    He is retired.

    The couple has four children: Linda Shillings of Harriman, Wayne Thomas of Rockwood, the late David Thomas and Linda Lynn of Harriman.

    There are seven grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.

  • Foster-Stafford

    James and Pamela Foster of Harriman announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Erika Nichole Foster, to Christopher Cory Stafford.

    He is the son of Henson and Elaine Stafford of Harriman.

    The ceremony will be at 4 p.m. Dec. 28 in Riverside Baptist Church, Harriman.

    All relatives and friends of the couple are invited to attend.

    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Zola Keathley.

    She is a dental assistant with Dr. James D. Walmsley’s dental practice.

  • Ryland Thomas Fritz

    Ryland Thomas Fritz was born at 6:29 p.m. Nov. 3 in University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville.

    He weighed 9 pounds, 5 ounces, and was 21.5 inches long.

    He is the son of Matt and Angie Thomas Fritz of Kingston.

    Grandparents are Jim and Becky Moates Thomas of Kignston, and Ernie and Cynthia Fritz of Harrison.

    Great-grandmothers are Madeline Moates of Kingston, and Betty Pratt of Urbana, Ohio.

    Ryland has two older sisters: Avery, 10, and Braxton, 8.

  • Leyton Ross and Tenley Harper Bolden

    Twins Leyton Ross and Tenley Harper Bolden were born on Oct. 29 in Parkwest Medical Center, Knoxville.

    They are the children of Tim and Amber Bolden of Harriman.

    Grandparents are Steve and Mona Bolden of Harriman, Dave and Leslie Senk of San Jose, Calif., Scott Parcels of Davidson, Mich., and Lyle Yingling of Knoxville.
