  • Births: Oct. 28-Nov. 26, 2013

    Babies born at Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge, to Roane County parents:
    Oct. 28 — Kayla and Christopher Pierce, Kingston. A girl, Alisa Louise Lynette, 7 pounds, 1 ounce. Sibling: Brennan. Grandparents: Lena Honeycutt; David Malosh; Wayne Honeycutt; Jeannie Pierce; Rodney Pierce.

    Nov. 1 — Kelly Meredith and Michael Burton, Oliver Springs. A boy, Ke’son Alexander, 6 pounds, 0 ounces. Siblings: Madison and Lacy. Grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Ward; the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Burton.

  • Barber-Miller

    Shayla Joy Barber and Chancey Randall Miller are happy to announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

    The couple will be married June 7, 2014, at First Baptist Church in Rockwood. A reception will follow at Club Grande at Grande Vista Bay.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of Shannon Barber and Larry Frost, both of Rockwood. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Barber of Rockwood.

  • Colyer-Zeigler

    Wesley Colyer and Michelle Hreha Colyer of Kingston announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Heather Anne Colyer, to Zachary Zeigler.

    He is the son of Terry and Marge Thompson and Tom Zeigler of Kingston.

    The ceremony will be on June 14 at Scott-Ellis Pavilion in Kingston.

    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late William and Mary Colyer, and Maria Hreha of Kingston and the late Stephen Hreha.

    She is a 2009 graduate of Midway High School and is a current student at Roane State Community College.

  • Wyatt makes five generations

    Edna Lawson’s family celebrated five generations with the birth of Lawson’s great-great-grandson, Wyatt Poore.

  • Cedar Eugene Jarnigan

    Cedar Eugene Jarnigan was born at 8:40 p.m. April 25 in Physicians Regional Medical Center, Knoxville.

    He weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces and was 20.5 inches long.

    He is the son of Parker Jarnigan and Daniele Jaques of Oak Ridge.

    Grandparents are Tina Zornes Lefever of Leaburg, Ore., Rusty Jaques of Springfield Ore., Pal and Sara Jarnigan of Oak Ridge, and Steve and Jeanette Hensley of Kingston.

    Great-grandparents are Hoyle and Mildred Dake of Kingston, and Julia Lowe of Oliver Springs.

  • Morgan-Grizzard

    Randy and Becky Morgan of Oliver Springs announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Megan Ann Morgan, to Michael Brett Grizzard.

    He is the son of Mike Grizzard and Lisa Grizzard, both of Harriman.

    The ceremony will be at 4 p.m. June 7 in Big Emory Baptist Church, Harriman. Invitations have been sent.

    A reception will follow in the church’s reception hall.

  • Ashton makes five generations

    Josephine Smith’s family celebrated five generations with the birth of Smith’s great-great-granddaughter, Ashton Jolley, on Dec. 11.

  • Clark is 93

    Savannah Sexton Clark turned 93 years old on April 27.

    She celebrated her birthday with her family.

  • Mr. & Mrs. Easter 60th

    Mr. and Mrs. Billy “Gene” Easter will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on May 15.

    Easter and the former Geneva Poland were married on May 15, 1954.

    He is retired from Martin Marietta Energy Systems. She is retired from Roane Hosiery.

    The Easters have three children: Karen Easter of Knoxville, Michael Easter of Hixson and the late Scott Easter.

    There are six grandchildren.

  • Phillips-Waller

    Jon and Renee Phillips of Ten Mile announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Chelsea Phillips, to Bryan Waller.

    He is the son of Charles Waller of Ten Mile and Debbie Lowe of Kingston.

    The ceremony will be at 4 p.m. May 10 at the home of Brad and Sherry Patterson of Ten Mile. Invitations will be sent, but all relatives and friends of the couple are invited to attend.

    A reception will follow at the Pattersons’ home.
