  • Mr & Mrs. Johnston 50th

    Mr. and Mrs. Paul Johnston will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 11.

    A cake and punch open house in their honor will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 11 at the Johnstons’ home at 106 S. Church Ave., Rockwood. Best wishes only; the couple requests no gifts.

    Johnston and the former Betty Neal were married in Rockwood in 1962.

  • Berlie Rayaunna Shaine Clabough

    Berlie Rayaunna Shaine Clabough was born at 11:08 p.m. July 7 in Parkwest Medical Center, Knoxville.

    She weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce and was 21 inches long.

    She is the daughter of Emily Duncan and Neil Clabough.

    Grandparents are Kim Parris Lively of Rockwood, Barbara Gaskin of Wartburg and the late Ray Clabough.

    Great-grandparents are Homer and Peggy Parris of Kingston.

  • Zirkle turns 95

    Joseph Zirkle, a long-time resident of Kingston, reached his milestone 95th birthday July 17.

    Known as Joe to many, he was born the seventh child in the seventh month in 1917 to George and Clara Zirkle.

    A graduate of Tusculum College, Zirkle and Jessie Craw were married in 1939 in New Orleans, where they lived for four years while he was employed by Aetna Insurance.

    When the country entered World War II, Zirkle answered his country’s call to service and joined the U.S. Navy.

  • Mr. & Mrs. Brabham 50th

    Mr. and Mrs. Larry Brabham will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on July 4.

    An anniversary celebration will be from 1 to 3 p.m. July 14 in Kingston First Baptist Church’s family life center.

    Brabham and the former Louise Gibson were married on July 4, 1962, in Ajo, Ariz.

    He is a retired boiler maker and contractor, and she was secretary at Kingston First Baptist Church for 25 years.

    The couple has two children, Shawn Brabham and Susan Brabham Brown.

  • James Daniel Hooker

    James Daniel Hooker was born at 8:59 p.m. on June 6 in Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge.

    He weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces, and was 19 inches long.

    He is the son of Timothy Hooker and Alicia Patterson of Wartburg.

    Grandparents are Douglas and Stella Patterson of Oliver Springs, and John and Mary Jo Hooker of Harriman.

    Great-grandparents are Earslee Patterson of Oliver Springs and Joseph Dunnabeck Sr. of Michigan.

    James has a brother, 8-year-old Jacob.

  • Madly Hillman

    Madly Hillman celebrated her third birthday on June 11 with her parents, grandparents and cousin, Cindy Patton. The theme of her party was Hello Kitty. She also had a fun day at Dollywood.

    She is the daughter of Chris and Betsey Hillman of Oliver Springs.

    Grandparents are Peg Keating of Auburn Hills, Mich., and Chuck and Rosa Smith Hillman of Harriman.

    March 15 — Kayla Daugherty, Oliver Springs. A boy, Neyland Jace. Grandparents: Paula Daugherty; Steve Daugherty.

    March 29 — Misty and Phillip Webb, Oliver Springs. A boy, Phillip Eugene Jr., 6 pounds, 13 ounces. Siblings: Kaylee and Samantha. Grandparents: John and Brenda Elkins; Glenna Kay Webb and the late Sam Webb.

  • Brayden Andrew Burney

    Brayden Andrew Burney turned 4 years old on June 9.

    He celebrated on June 8 with a Toy Story-themed party with relatives and friends.

    He is the son of Melissa and Scott Burney of Harriman.

    Grandparents are Linda U. Banks of Harriman, and Annette and Troy Burney of Oliver Springs.

    Great-grandparents are the late Lola and Melvin  Utley, the late J.H. and Sarah Burney, and the late O.T. and Etoy McDaniel.

    Brayden has a brother, Shawn, 2 1/2.

  • Mr. & Mrs. Overall

    Rachel Trent and Aaron Overall were married April 7 at The Park in New Orleans.

    One hundred and fifty guests attended. The groom’s brother’s Chet’s band played for the reception.

    The bride is a graduate of Midway High School and East Tennessee State University. She is a registered nurse with Fort Loudoun Medical Center, Lenoir City.
