  • Abigail Grace ‘Abby’ Ariks

    Abigail Grace “Abby” Ariks was born at 9:53 a.m. Nov. 2 in Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, Knoxville.

    She weighed 7 pounds, 12 ounces, and was 20 inches long.

    She is the daughter of Chris and Jessica Ariks of Kingston.

    Grandparents are Ron and Rhonda Nickell and the late Angelia Ariks, all of Kingston, and Johnny Ariks of Decatur.

    Great-grandparents are Reva Nickell and Lonnie Johnson of Kingston, Sue Johnson of Harriman, and the late Nancy Edmonds of Pennington Gap, Va.

  • Shawn Alexander Burney

    Shawn Alexander Burney of Harriman celebrated his second birthday on Nov. 18 with a Mickey-Mouse-themed party.

    He is the son of Scott and Melissa Burney of Harriman.

    Grandparents are Linda Utley Banks of Harriman, and Troy and Annette Burney of Oliver Springs.

    Great-grandparents are the late Melvin and Lola Utley, Junior and Sarah Burney, and O.T. and Etoy McDaniels.

    Shawn has an older brother, Brayden.

  • Alyson Kate Wheeler

    Alyson Kate Wheeler turned 8 years old on Nov. 6.

    She celebrated with a Monster-High-themed party at Roane County Skating Center with friends and relatives.

    She is the daughter of Richard and Carla Wheeler of Kingston.

    Grandparents are R.L. Lawson and the late Shirley Lawson, and Richard and Elizabeth Wheeler, all of Harriman.

    Alyson has an 11-year-old brother, Noah.

  • Braxton Olivia Fritz

    Braxton Olivia Fritz celebrated her sixth birthday Oct. 11.

    She celebrated at Premier Athletics in Farragut with family and friends.

    She is the daughter of Matt and Angie Thomas Fritz of Kingston.

    Grandparents are Jim and Becky Moates Thomas of Kingston and Ernest and Cynthia Fritz of Harrison.

    Great-grandmothers are Betty Pratt of Urbana, Ohio, and Madeline Moates of Rockwood.

    Sarah Rae Strunk and Nickolas Paul Easter were married on Oct. 22 in a candlelight ceremony at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Abingdon, Va.

    The Rev. Ray Jones Jr., pastor emeritus of Wise Baptist Church in Wise, Va., officiated during the double-ring ceremony.

  • Mr. & Mrs. Standridge 50th

    Gene and Gretchen Standridge celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 12.

    They were married on Nov. 12, 1961, at Midway Church of God, Ten Mile.

    He is a retired building contractor, and she is a retired school bus driver. They are active members of Luminary United Methodist Church and enjoy attending University of Tennessee Lady Volunteers basketball games.

    The couple has two children, Pam and Mona; three grandchildren, Candi, Amanda and John Mark; and two great-grandchildren, Corbin and Alexsys.
