  • Redmon turning 100 on Aug. 23

    Rella Dora McKenzie Redmon of Oakdale will turn 100 years old on Aug. 23.

    She will mark the occasion with a special time of fellowship and celebration from 2 to 5 p.m. Aug. 20 in  Orchard Community Center.

    No gifts are requested.

    Redmon is a longtime member of Oakdale United Methodist Church.

    She is the mother of Charles Roe Redmon of Atlanta.

    She is the grandmother of Christopher McKenzie Redmon and wife Missy of Rockwood, and the great-grandmother of Marissa and Caleb Redmon of Rockwood.

  • Mr. & Mrs. Wright

    Rachel Elizabeth Bagby and J. Adam Wright were married on May 7 in Chapel at the Park, Gatlinburg.

    The Rev. Timothy McIntyre officiated during the 5:30 p.m. ceremony.

    The bride is the daughter of Lee and Beth Bagby of Franklin.

    The groom is the son of Randy and Darlene Wright of Harriman.

    The bride, escorted by her father, wore a traditional white beaded ball gown with a fingertip-length veil. Her bouquet consisted of fuchsia and orange roses.

  • Tilley-Jones

    Tom and Brenda Tilley of Harriman announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Kendra Tilley of Cincinnati, to Cody Jones of Johnson City.

    He is the son of Doug Jones of Cincinnati and Donna Wilburn of Knoxville.

    The ceremony will be on Aug. 27 at Castleton Farms, Loudon.

    Formal invitations have been sent.

  • Mr. & Mrs. Hedrick

    Darlita Evans and Lucas Hedrick were married on June 11 in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Harriman.

    Father Michael Sweeney officiated during the 2 p.m. ceremony.

    The bride is the daughter of Dennis and Regina Evans of Rockwood.

    Her grandparents are Jim and Louise Evans of Rockwood and Kenneth Bane and the late Vernell Martain.

    The groom is the son of Martha Hedrick of Harriman and the late Wendal Hedrick.

    His grandparents are Jane Palko of Harriman and the late Ed Palko.

  • Kirkham-Colbert

    Philip and Lucy Kirkham of Rockwood announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Julie Anne Kirkham, to Richard Logan Colbert.

    He is the son of Richard and Wanda Colbert of Brentwood.

    An autumn ceremony at Evins Mill is planned.

    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of David Kirkham of Rockwood and the late Mary Kirkham and the late James and Mary Elizabeth Frazier.

  • Landyn James Goad

    Landyn James Goad was born at 7:13 p.m. July 6 in Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, Knoxville.

    He weighed 3 pounds, 2.4 ounces and was 16 inches long.

    He is the son of Tressa Shawntae Gibson and Travis Ray Goad of Rockwood.

    Grandparents are Tracie Pickard of Harriman, Sean Gibson of Rockwood and Karen and Lonnie Goad of Harriman,

    Great-grandparents are Clara Pickard of Harriman and the late Willie Pickard, Beverly and Rolland Gibson of Rockwood and Hazel Frederick.

  • Young-Stout

     

    Sharon Young and Matt Stout were married at 5 p.m. on June 28 at Riverfront Park. Bill Trent officiated during the outdoor ceremony.
    The bride is the daughter of Betty and Charles Young.
    The groom is the son of Betty and Lonnie Stout.
    The couple celebrated with family and friends then honeymooned in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
     

  • Mr. and Mrs. Harmon

     

    Mr. and Mrs. Homer Harmon will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary July 21.
    Homer Harmon and the former Wanda Bullens, both of Harriman, were married July 21, 1951, in Harriman with the Rev. E. H. Howard officiating.
    They have two sons, Rick Allen Harmon and wife Pat, Knoxville, Kim Trent Harmon, Harriman; three grandsons, Justin Harmon and Aaron Harmon, both of Knoxville, Chris Thomas and wife Mary, Maryville; and two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Savannah Thomas.
