  • Births: Jan. 24-Feb. 15

    Babies born at Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge, to Roane County parents:

    Jan. 24 — Kara Pelfrey, Kingston. A boy, Austin, 8 pounds, 1 ounce. Grandparents: Jack Pelfrey; Mechelle Epling; Jeremy Epling.

    • Becky Cranford and Randy Pass, Roane County. A boy, Aaron, 8 pounds, 12 ounces. Siblings: Amanda, Amber and Adam. Grandparents: Doris and Billy Gladden.

  • Ammon-Decker

    James and Peggy Nichols of Crossville announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Cadie Joy Ammon, to Jake Kody Decker.

    He is the son of Rebecca Lyons and brother of Kyle Decker of Harriman.

    The ceremony will be at 11 a.m. April 9 in Kingston. A reception will follow.

    Invitations will be sent, but all relatives and friends of the couple are invited to attend.

    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Thomas and Sharon Clayton of Belleville, Mich., and Lynn and Coleen Tincher of Crossville.

  • Elijah Lee Brock

    Elijah Lee Brock turned 2 years old on Jan. 30.

    He celebrated on Jan. 29 with a Toy Story-themed party with relatives and friends.

    He is the son of Philip and Lori Brock of Harriman.

    Grandparents are Wayne and Shirley Bullard of Harriman and Bob and Emily Brock of Rockwood.

    Great-grandparent is Ada Nelson of Harriman.

    Elijah has a brother, Adam Brock.

  • Avery Elise Fritz

    Avery Elise Fritz of Kingston celebrated her eighth birthday on Feb. 1 with family and friends at Roane County Skating Center in Rockwood.

    She is the daughter of Matt and Angie Thomas Fritz of Kingston.

    Grandparents are Jim and Becky Moates Thomas of Kingston, and Ernest and Cynthia Fritz of Harrison.

    Great-grandmothers are Madeline Moates of Rockwood and Betty Pratt of Urbana, Ohio.

    Avery has a 5-year-old sister, Braxton Olivia.

  • Mr. & Mrs. Dunbar

    Meredith Michelle Potts and Samuel Cuyler Dunbar were married on Dec. 11 in St. Paul Community Church, Nashville.

    The Rev. Jack Carver of Gallatin officiated during the ceremony.

    The bride is the daughter of David and Jeannie Potts of Memphis. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Garland Brinson of Burleson, Texas, and Louise Potts of Jackson GA.

    The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Cuyler Dunbar of Conover N.C. He is the grandson of Verdell Martin of Conover.

    Wedding musicians were organist Trudy Bain and acoustic guitarist Garrett Glass of Port Murray, N.J.

  • Amayah Neely Hall

    Amayah Neely Hall was born at 8:52 p.m. Jan. 6 in Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge.

    She weighed 9 pounds, 9 ounces, and was 21 inches long.

    She is the daughter of Nicole Hall of Harriman.

    Grandparents are Roseanna and Andy Williams of Harriman and Stefani and David Hall Jr. of Rockwood.

    Great-grandparents are Betty Smith of Harriman, Sue and David Hall Sr. of Rockwood, Sharron and John Johnson of Rockwood, the late Faye Hall and the late Charles Smith.

  • 'Granny' turns 94

    Reba “Granny” McCullough of Rockwood celebrated her 94th birthday on Feb. 11.

    She celebrated the special event with her family.

    She has a son, Freddie; three grandchildren, Dani, Jeri and Teresa; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
     

  • Collins-Austin

    Danielle Collins and Thomas Kaine Austin of Tallahassee, Fla., announce their forthcoming marriage.

    The ceremony will be at 6:30 p.m. April 15 in Tallahassee.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of Lt. Col. and Mrs. James D. Collins of Tallahassee.

    An office manager and commercial real estate agent for Structure Commercial Real Estate, she is a graduate of Mosley High School and Florida State University.

    The prospective groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William F. Milburn of Brentwood and Thomas A. Austin of Kingston.

  • Mr. & Mrs. Ladd

    Tami Hamby and Steve Ladd were married on Jan. 1 in South Harriman Baptist Church.

    The Rev. Todd Dorsey officiated during the private ceremony.

    The bride is the daughter of Tom and Patsy Hamby of Harriman and the late Glenda Hamby.

    The groom is the son of R.W. and Edith Ladd of Harriman.

    A reception dinner at Lakeside Tavern in Knoxville followed the ceremony.

    After a wedding trip to the Caribbean, the couple is at home in Roane County.
     

  • Taylor Ann Smith

    Taylor Ann Smith turned 4 years old on Nov. 21.

    She celebrated with a Pinkalicious party.

    She is the daughter of Will and Kristy Smith of Harriman.

    Grandparents are Steve and Mona Bolden of Harriman and Diane Smith of Oakdale.

    Taylor has a 2 1/2-year-old brother, Liam.
