  • Mr. & Mrs. Patterson 50th

    Mr. and Mrs. Fred Patterson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 1 with family and friends.

    Patterson and the former Kay McMann were married on Oct. 1, 1963, in Lincoln Park, Mich.

    The couple’s three children and their spouses are Brad and Sherry Patterson of Ten Mile, Kent and Katie Patterson, and Greg and Emily Patterson, all of Kingston.

    There are eight grandchildren.

    May 26 — Desirae Pelzel and Jacob Massengale, Oliver Springs. A boy, Leeland James, 7 pounds, 6 ounces. Sibling: Jayden. Grandparents: Betty Massengale; Mark Massengale; Linda Jones; John Jones; Chris Pelzel; Louise Patterson; Kelly Willson; Robert Willson.

    May 29 — Mindy Davidson, Harriman. A boy, Elijah Michael, 6 pounds, 11 ounces. Grandparents: Freda Davidson; Eugene Chaney.

  • Mr. & Mrs. Finks 50th

    James and Joyce Finks celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 20.

    Their children and spouses are Karen and Allen Shope, Tommy Finks of Kingston and Robert and Erin Finks of Harriman.

    Their grandchildren are Joshua Lunsford, Amber Lemons and husband Chandler, Justin Finks, Mandy Finks, Cale Robinson, Colby Robinson, Lenna Robinson, Austin Shope and Nathan Shope.

    They have three great-granddaughters, Jaycie, Ava and Acen Lemons.

  • Colter Lee Sexton

    Colter Lee Sexton was born on May 14 in Parkwest Medical Center, Knoxville.

    He weighed 6 pounds 6 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long.

    He is the son of Cody and Saundra Sexton of Rockwood.

    Grandparents are Glen “Russ” and Lisa Sexton of Harriman and Wendell and Linda Rosenbalm of Heiskell.
     

  • Katz-Burton

    Lacie Katz and Dr. Clay Burton, along with their parents, Dr. Mark and Cathy Katz and Donnie and Melody Burton, announce their forthcoming marriage.

    An October ceremony in Bermuda Run, N.C., is planned. Formal invitations are being sent.

    The bride-elect is a 2010 graduate of the University of North Carolina with a degree in nursing. 

    The prospective groom is a 2008 graduate of Tennessee Technological University and a 2012 graduate of the University of Tennessee Dental School.

  • Pets benefit on Baylee’s birthday

    Baylee Mize turned 10 years old on Aug. 7, and she celebrated with a party at Tatarus in Knoxville.

    Instead of gifts, she asked for pet food, which she donated to the Roane County Animal Shelter.

    She received 205 pounds of dog food, 11 pounds of cat food and cat litter.

    Baylee is the daughter of Jeff and Keta Howell Mize.

    Her grandparents are Keith and Derita Howell, and J.D. and Helen Mize.
     

  • Kolton Clay King

    Kolton Clay King was born on May 3 in Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, Knoxville.

    He is the son of Blake and Stephanie King of Oakdale.

    His grandparents are Stanley and Becky Jones of Oakdale, Allen and Susan Miles of Kingston, and Kelly and Lisa King of Harriman.

    Kolton has a brother, Bryson Cox of Oakdale.

  • LaBounty’s 90th birthday is Aug. 25

    Eugene LaBounty of Kingston will celebrate his 90th birthday on Aug. 25.

    He was born in Richford, Vt., and retired to Tennessee after more than 20 years in the U.S. Army.

    He has two children, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

    He and his wife, Mavis, will celebrate their 69th wedding anniversary in December.

  • Baker-Clinton

    Rita Gail Morgan Baker of Harriman announces the forthcoming marriage of her daughter, Kari-Amber Morgan Baker, to Nathan Clinton.

    He is the son of the late James Willis “Dick” and Verdie Clinton of Gainesboro.

    The ceremony will be on Sept. 2.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of the late Ronald Lynn “Ronnie” Baker of Harriman.

    Her grandparents are the late Bill and Myrtle Morgan of Joyner, and the late Kenneth and Viola Baker of Harriman.
