    Kelsey Rae Smith was born at 12:36 p.m. July 7 in Parkwest Medical Center, Knoxville.

    She weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces, and was 20 inches long.

    She is the daughter of Will and Kristy Smith of Harriman.

    Grandparents are Steve and Mona Bolden of Harriman, and Diana Smith of Oakdale.

    Great-grandparents are Mary Oran and Ruth Headrick.

    Kelsey has a brother, Liam, 4, and a sister, Taylor, 5.

  • Jace Simeon Tedder

    Jace Simeon Tedder celebrated his ninth birthday on Aug. 23. He celebrated with a NASCAR-themed party at Roane County Park with family and friends.

    He is the son of Marty and Robin Tedder of Harriman.

    Grandparents are Ernest and Barbara Tedder and Charles and Becky Lamance, all of Harriman.  

    Jace has a 3-year-old brother, Cole Thomas Tedder.

  • Rebecca Mechtly marks 73rd today

    Rebecca Mechtly of Rockwood celebrates her 73rd birthday today, Aug. 31.

    Family members, including son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Lela Mechtly and their daughters, Miranda and Victoria, said they are glad she is home from the hospital for her special day.

    “We look forward to enjoying time with you in the days to come,” they said.

  • Mr. & Mrs. Narramore 50th

    Mr. and Mrs. John Narramore of Kingston will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 1.

    Their children and grandchildren will host an anniversary reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 2 in Laurel Bluff Baptist Church fellowship hall. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.

  • Mr. & Mrs. Hicks

    Dianna Caine Hicks and Rocky “Billy” Hicks, both of Harriman, were married on Aug. 18 at 599 Morgan County Hwy., Harriman.

    Minister Richard Cox officiated during the 6 p.m. ceremony.

    The bride is the daughter of Kelvin and Lisa Armes of Harriman.

    The groom is the son of Bill and Shelia Hicks of Harriman.

    The bride was escorted by her father. Her son, McKinley Lough, was ringbearer.

    Following a wedding trip to Cape Coral, Fla., the couple is at home in Harriman.

  • Mr. & Mrs. Trivett 50th

    Mr. and Mrs. John Trivett celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 11.

    They celebrated with family and friends, along with a cruise to the Hawaiian Islands.

    Trivett and the former Lois Davis were married on July 11, 1962, in Elizabethton, with Luther Rodefer officiating.

    He is retired from Fortafil Fibers, Rockwood, and she is retired from Roane County News, Kingston.

    The couple has two daughters, Angie Sewell and her husband, Randy, Knoxville, and Veronica Stinnett and her husband, Travis, Harriman.

    Jamie Elizabeth Pierce and William Matthew Bullock, both of Rockwood, were married on June 23 in Luminary United Methodist Church, Ten Mile.

    Pastor Adam Barnes officiated during the 5 p.m. ceremony.

    The bride is the daughter of James and Laura Pierce of Ten Mile.

    The groom is the son of William and Brenda Bullock of Oak Ridge.

    The bride was escorted by her father. Marie Nora Pierce served as her sister’s maid of honor.

    Todd Walker of Kingston was the groom’s best man.
