  • Big plans under way for Kendrick’s 100th

    Ida Kendrick will celebrate her 100th birthday on May 28.

    She plans to celebrate with her daughter, Joyce Lemons of Rockwood, and her nieces and nephews.

    They plan to honor her big day with a special luncheon in Rockwood Street Grill in downtown Rockwood.

    Kendrick is the only surviving child from a family of 11 children.

    She was born in President Woodrow Wilson’s first administration.

  • Nance turning 95 today

    Edith Nance celebrates her 95th birthday today, March 27.

    She was honored by her family and friends with a birthday celebration on March 24 in Bradbury Community Center.

    Nance is the mother of four: Patsy Nance, Larry Nance, Danny Nance and the late Gloria Miller.

    She has a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

  • Payton Madox ‘Max’ Richardson and Maggie Rose Richardson

    Siblings Maggie Rose Richardson and Payton Madox "Max" Richardson both celebrated their birthdays on March 8.

    Maggie turned 5 on March 8 and celebrated with a Cinderella-themed party. Max, who turned 7 on March 8, had a Mario-themed party.

    They are the children of Cliff and Shauna Richardson.

    Grandparents are Jack and Diane Woolum of Kingston, the late Jerry D. Richardson, and Michael and Kay Griffith of North Carolina.

  • Mr. & Mrs. McNelly 50th

    Mr. and Mrs. Rolland McNelly of Midtown will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on April 2.

    Their children will give a reception in their honor from 2 to 4 p.m. April 7 in Piney Grove Baptist Church fellowship building at 2323 Ruritan Road, Midtown. Call Robin at 712-0286 for information or directions. All relatives and friends are invited to attend. The couple requests no gifts.

    McNelly and the former Carolyn Rayburn were married on April 2, 1963, in Rockwood, with the Rev. Bobby Spann officiating.

  • Mr. & Mrs. Edmonds

    Jessica Nicole Snow and Clint Alan Edmonds were married on Oct. 6 in Union Chapel Baptist Church, Kingston.

    Pastor Ronald Nickell officiated during the 3:30 p.m. candlelight ceremony.

    The bride is the daughter of Ricky and Tina Snow of Harriman.

    Her grandparents are Vickie Frogg of Harriman and the late Larry Frogg, and Kenny and Mary Snow of Harriman.

    The groom is the son of George Alan and Debbie Edmonds of Harriman.

  • Mr. & Mrs. Goldston 50th

    Mr. and Mrs. William "Bill" Goldston  Jr. will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on April 5.

    The couple will be honored with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. April 6 in Riverside Baptist Church's fellowship hall, Harriman. All relatives and friends are invited to attend; the couple requests no gifts.

    Goldston and the former Carolyn Grigsby were married on April 5, 1963, in Rockwood, with the Rev. Carl Armes officiating.

  • Mr. & Mrs. Souther 71st

    Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Souther will celebrate their 71st wedding anniversary on March 22.

    The couple was married on March 22, 1942, in Chatsworth, Ga. Their family said they have had a great life and still live indepedently at ages 92 and 87.

    Their children and spouses are Joan and Dan Runyon, and Brad and Tanya Souther.

    Grandchildren and spouses are Kevin Keith, Shannon Runyon, Adam and Pam Souther, and Ashley and Jason Harris.

    There are three great-grandchildren: Hunter and Zoe Runyan, and Whitley Harris.

  • Redmon-Bullard

    Beverly and Kevin Foster, Harriman, and Mike Redmon, Kingston, announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Mikaela Morgan Redmon, to Jonathan Michael Bullard.

    He is the son of James and Kelley Bullard of Harriman.

    The ceremony will be on March 30 at Grand Vista Bay, Rockwood.

    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Margaret L. Hacker of Harriman and the late Auriel Graydon Hacker, and Clayton and Nell Redmon of Oakdale.

    She is employed with Cardiology Associates of East Tennessee.

  • Bedwell-Stone

    Michael and Sharon Bedwell of Knoxville announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Karen Bedwell, to Stephen Stone of Powell.

    He is the son of Rick and Adele Stone of Kingston.

    The ceremony will be at 5 p.m. March 23 in Christ Covenant Presbyterian Church at 12915 Kingston Pike, Knoxville.
