  • Katz-Burton

    Lacie Katz and Dr. Clay Burton, along with their parents, Dr. Mark and Cathy Katz and Donnie and Melody Burton, announce their forthcoming marriage.

    An October ceremony in Bermuda Run, N.C., is planned. Formal invitations are being sent.

    The bride-elect is a 2010 graduate of the University of North Carolina with a degree in nursing. 

    The prospective groom is a 2008 graduate of Tennessee Technological University and a 2012 graduate of the University of Tennessee Dental School.

  • Pets benefit on Baylee’s birthday

    Baylee Mize turned 10 years old on Aug. 7, and she celebrated with a party at Tatarus in Knoxville.

    Instead of gifts, she asked for pet food, which she donated to the Roane County Animal Shelter.

    She received 205 pounds of dog food, 11 pounds of cat food and cat litter.

    Baylee is the daughter of Jeff and Keta Howell Mize.

    Her grandparents are Keith and Derita Howell, and J.D. and Helen Mize.
     

  • Kolton Clay King

    Kolton Clay King was born on May 3 in Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, Knoxville.

    He is the son of Blake and Stephanie King of Oakdale.

    His grandparents are Stanley and Becky Jones of Oakdale, Allen and Susan Miles of Kingston, and Kelly and Lisa King of Harriman.

    Kolton has a brother, Bryson Cox of Oakdale.

  • LaBounty’s 90th birthday is Aug. 25

    Eugene LaBounty of Kingston will celebrate his 90th birthday on Aug. 25.

    He was born in Richford, Vt., and retired to Tennessee after more than 20 years in the U.S. Army.

    He has two children, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

    He and his wife, Mavis, will celebrate their 69th wedding anniversary in December.

  • Baker-Clinton

    Rita Gail Morgan Baker of Harriman announces the forthcoming marriage of her daughter, Kari-Amber Morgan Baker, to Nathan Clinton.

    He is the son of the late James Willis “Dick” and Verdie Clinton of Gainesboro.

    The ceremony will be on Sept. 2.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of the late Ronald Lynn “Ronnie” Baker of Harriman.

    Her grandparents are the late Bill and Myrtle Morgan of Joyner, and the late Kenneth and Viola Baker of Harriman.

  • Mr. & Mrs. Butler 65th

    Mr. and Mrs. Bill Butler of Rockwood will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Aug. 15.

    Butler and the former Louise Carter were married on Aug. 15, 1948.

    He is retired from Rockwood Water Department, and she is retired from Roane County Schools.

    They have two sons, Dennis and Mike of Rockwood; and two daughters, Linda Stooksbury and Karen Wilson of Rockwood.

    There are 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

  • Munsey-Foster

    Jim and Linda Munsey of Kingston announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Melissa Lynn Munsey, to Clint Anthony Fos-
    ter.

    He is the son of Bryan and Lana Foster of Oakdale.

    The ceremony will be at 6 p.m. Aug. 17 at Whitestone Country Inn.

    The bride-elect is a 2009 graduate of Roane County High School and a 2013 graduate of the University of Tennessee with a degree in communication studies.

    The prospective groom studied music business at Middle Tennessee State University. He is employed with Munsey Pharmacy.

  • Mr. & Mrs. Cantrell

    Mary Renfro and Ray Cantrell were married on July 2 in Liberty Baptist Church, Kingston, with the Rev. Randy Griffis officiating.

    The attendants were their children. Marcia Hayes served as maid of honor, with Kimberly Cantrell as bridesmaid. Gregory Cantrell was best man, and Rodney Renfro was groomsman.

    The bride wore a floor-length cream-colored organza off-the-shoulder dress with ruching on the bodice.

    She wore it with a sheer lace and sequin bolero long-sleeved jacket.

  • Mr. & Mrs. Saltsman

    Alexanderia Elizabeth Honeycutt-Saltsman and John Bruce “Chip” Saltsman Jr. were married on Feb. 17 in Scarritt-Bennett Center, Nashville.

    Father Joseph McMahon of Nashville’s Christ the King Church officiated the small ceremony, consisting of only immediate family members.

    The bride is the daughter of Ralph and Betty Honeycutt of Kingston. Her grandparents are Edward L. Johnson of Kingston and the late Margaret Johnson.

    The groom is the son of Bruce and Elaine Saltsman of Nashville.

  • Skylar Roxanne Bruneel

    Skylar Roxanne Bruneel was born on May 21 in the U.S. Naval Hospital Bremerton in Bremerton, Wash.

    She weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces, and was 19.5 inches long.

    She is the daughter of Scott and Tausha Bruneel.

    Grandparents are Jackie and Jan Hill, Joni Haley and Bob Bruneel.

    Great-grandparents are Hazel McCullough and John and Ruth Birgy.
