Altaf Naseem, a Christian missionary who works to spread the words and love of Jesus Christ in the predominantly Muslim nation of Pakistan, will share insights into his work during a presentation on Oct. 23 in Morrison Hill Christian Church, Kingston.

The presentation will begin at 6 p.m. in the church at 106 Morrison Hill Circle.

Kingston United Methodist Church has reserved dates and times within the month to take applications for its 2011 Christmas basket program.

Applications will be accepted in the church’s ministry center at 212 W. Church St.

They will be accepted from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 19 and Nov. 1.

Daytime hours have also been established. Applications may be submitted from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 20, Oct. 25-26 and Nov. 1.

Klaudia Zhelezny, a representative of Chosen People Ministries, will speak during Kingston First Baptist Church’s 10:55 a.m. worship service on Oct. 16.

The program to be presented is Fall Feast of Israel.

Chosen People Ministries is a more-than-100-year-old mission founded in 1894 by Leopold Cohn, a Hungarian rabbi who came to believe that Jesus was the Messiah of Israel.

St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Harriman, will join other churches across the country on Oct. 2 in the tradition of the Blessing of Animals.

The line of pets — everything from dogs and cats to hamsters and horses — will begin forming at 2 p.m.

All animals — four legged, two legged, Episcopalian or other, furry, feathered or scaled — are welcome.
