All Saints’ Day will be celebrated beginning at 10 a.m. Nov. 7 in St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Harriman.

The Rev. Joseph Pinner will be in charge.

“All Saints’ Day is kind of like a Christian Memorial Day or Presidents’ Day,” Pinner said. “It is a day to celebrate both the lives of the great heroes of the Christian faith as well as to honor all those who have died and gone before us into the presence of the Lord.”

FRIDAY, OCT. 29
• Bradbury United Methodist Church, Kingston, will have its annual fall festival through Oct. 30. Festivities are planned from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily; breakfast and lunch will be served both days. Yard-sale items, baked goods, fried apple pies and jellies will be sold. The church is at 3506 Buttermilk Road West. Call the church office at 376-2990 for details.

Kingston United Methodist Church has published a new cookbook with more than 400 recipes.

“These make wonderful gifts for those special people on your gift list, as well as yourself,” said church member Sharon Price.

Books are $15 each and  may be purchased by calling the church office at 376-6337.

Blessed Sacrament Church in Harriman will be taking applications for Christmas Baskets. Families/adults, needing assistance are asked to bring some form of identification and proof of income.
Applications will be accepted at Blessed Sacrament’s church office on Margrave Dr. in Harriman on the folowing dates: Tuesday, Nov. 2, 9 a.m. to noon, 5 p.m. to 7; Wednesday, Nov. 3, 9 a.m. to noon; Tuesday, Nov. 9, 10 a.m. to noon; and Wednesday, Nov. 10, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
